An FIR has been lodged against RJD leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav in Maharashtra. The complaint alleges that Yadav posted an ‘objectionable’ remark concerning Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a social media platform. Milind Narote, a BJP MLA from Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, filed the complaint. The FIR was registered at Gadchiroli police station. The complaint states that Yadav’s posts contained disparaging statements against the Prime Minister ahead of his visit to Gaya. The posts allegedly called PM Modi a ‘liar’ and accused him of making false promises. The complaint also cited a post that shared a song mocking the Prime Minister. Narote asserted that the posts caused resentment among Gadchiroli citizens and were intended to disturb peace and harmony. The FIR includes charges under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, related to promoting enmity between groups, defamation, intentional insult, and statements causing public mischief.
