Following his resignation on July 22nd, former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar is set to move into a farmhouse in Chhatarpur. He submitted a pension application on August 30th. Dhankhar will temporarily reside at the 15 Gadaipur Farm House in Chhatarpur, starting next week. He has requested a government bungalow from the Ministry of Urban Development, as per regulations. While awaiting the allocation of a government bungalow, he will stay at the Chhatarpur farmhouse. The Directorate of Estates, under the Ministry of Urban Development, has readied a Type 8 bungalow at 34 APJ Abdul Kalam Marg for him. According to CPWD officials, the bungalow’s repair and furnishing will take approximately three months. As per the rules, former Presidents, Vice Presidents, and Prime Ministers are entitled to a Type-8 bungalow in Delhi upon leaving office. Alternatively, they can choose to receive two acres of land at their ancestral place. Dhankhar cited health reasons for his resignation. A new Vice President will be elected on September 9th.
