Four Isolated in Gujarat Amid Ebola Scare

Gujarat health officials have placed four individuals under strict quarantine following concerns they may have contracted Ebola while travelling from affected African countries. The precautionary action was announced by Health Minister Praful Pansheria after the state received alerts regarding recent outbreaks in Uganda and Congo. One of the quarantined persons is 37-year-old businessman Amori Lokola, who landed in Mumbai and then proceeded to Vadodara. After developing high fever, he was shifted from a private facility to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital for specialised monitoring. Two other travellers accompanying him, Patrick Kaja and Valentin Jodl, have been isolated at SVP Hospital, while the treating doctor Sunil Musana is also under observation. Officials clarified that the situation is under control and no positive Ebola case has been detected so far. Samples collected from the four individuals have been dispatched to Pune, with results expected within days. The minister added that previous scares in the state had all turned out negative. Pansheria said the department is keeping a close watch on travellers showing flu-like symptoms. The patients are reported to be stable, and authorities continue to follow World Health Organization guidelines to prevent any potential spread.
