Government Announces ₹4 Lakh Relief as Telangana Heatwave Claims 16 Lives

In response to a severe heatwave that has claimed 16 lives in Telangana, the state government has initiated emergency relief measures. During a meeting at the Secretariat, Revenue Minister Pongulati Srinivas Reddy reviewed the situation and ordered district administrations to provide ₹4 lakh ex-gratia to the families of the victims. Authorities have been tasked with setting up hydration centers and distributing ORS and buttermilk in public places. The India Meteorological Department has issued a continued alert for several districts, including Hyderabad, as temperatures remain dangerously high.
