A new initiative has been launched by the government to provide financial assistance to individuals injured in road accidents across the country. This scheme, titled ‘Cashless Treatment of Road Accident Victims Scheme 2025’, aims to ensure immediate and accessible medical care for accident victims. Under this program, victims of road accidents involving motor vehicles (cars, bikes, trucks, etc.) will receive cashless treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh. This benefit is available for a period of seven days from the date of the accident and can be availed at designated government hospitals. The primary objective of the scheme is to provide prompt medical attention, potentially saving lives. The scheme will be managed through the National Health Authority’s (NHA) IT platform, streamlining the treatment process, making it online, and reducing paperwork. The government has stated that the scheme will offer financial security and timely medical care during emergencies.
