The Greater Noida Authority has initiated ‘Plan B’ to address persistent traffic congestion in the Shahberi area of Greater Noida West. As part of this plan, six illegal cuts have been closed, and the removal of illegally constructed ramps has begun. Survey work is underway, with demolition of the ramps scheduled to commence soon. The aim is to alleviate traffic issues in Shahberi through the comprehensive implementation of ‘Plan B’. However, five illegal cuts remain open, despite their contribution to accidents and traffic obstruction caused by wrong-side driving. The authority has stated that these cuts may also be closed if necessary, acknowledging the concerns of local residents but prioritizing traffic management.
The Shahberi Marg, extending approximately one and a half kilometers from the Iteda intersection to the crossing, is undergoing improvements. Road widening has been completed, but some electric poles still impede traffic flow. Efforts to remove these poles are in progress. The removal of these poles, along with the elimination of illegal ramps, is expected to significantly reduce traffic problems.
Prerna Singh, Aceo of the Greater Noida Authority, confirmed that the widening of the road connecting Ghaziabad and Greater Noida is complete. She noted an improvement in traffic conditions and assured that remaining issues will be resolved shortly.
