The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 10-year leadership, violence in the country’s three major hotspots – Jammu and Kashmir, the Northeast, and Naxal-affected areas – has decreased by 75 percent. He attributed this to the Modi government’s zero-tolerance policy and strong leadership. Shah also expressed confidence that Naxalism would be completely eradicated by 2026. The Home Minister mentioned that the Modi government adopted a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and extremism, citing surgical strikes, air strikes, and the recent Operation Sindoor as examples that sent a strong message to terrorists and Naxalites. According to the Home Minister, Left-wing extremism will be completely eliminated from the country by March 2026.
