The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for several regions due to heavy rainfall and predicted extreme weather conditions in the coming days. East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, and Coastal Karnataka experienced heavy rain in the past 24 hours. This has led to severe flooding in areas of West Bengal’s Paschim Medinipur. The IMD forecasts a continued wet spell across Northeast, Central, West, and Northwest India. Citizens should anticipate disruptions and potential traffic delays. Isolated heavy rainfall is expected in Rajasthan (July 13–16), Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh (July 14–16), Himachal Pradesh (July 13–18), Uttarakhand (July 13–18), Punjab (July 16), Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi (July 14), and West Uttar Pradesh (July 13, 16 & 17). Heavy rainfall is also predicted for East Uttar Pradesh (July 14–17), Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Konkan, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. The rainy spell is expected to continue in the national capital until July 18, with cloudy skies and light showers accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
