The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a comprehensive weather forecast predicting significant rainfall across various parts of India on Sunday, August 31st, due to active monsoon conditions. Northwest India, including Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Punjab, is expected to experience heavy rainfall. Western India, particularly Maharashtra and Gujarat, will see light to moderate rainfall. East and central India, encompassing states like West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, are also anticipated to receive heavy showers. In the Northeast, Arunachal Pradesh will continue to face heavy rainfall, while Assam, Meghalaya, and neighboring states may experience thunderstorms and lightning. Southern Peninsular India is expected to witness heavy rainfall, especially over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Telangana. The monsoon trough currently stretches from Bikaner, Ajmer, Guna, Damoh, Durg, Chandbali towards the central Bay of Bengal.
