The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather advisory predicting heavy rainfall across several states until July 15th. Residents of Bengaluru experienced pleasant, cloudy weather on July 10th. However, other regions like Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Arunachal Pradesh faced thunderstorms and gusty winds. The IMD anticipates light to moderate rain in South Peninsular India, including Kerala and Mahe, along with Lakshadweep over the next week. The forecast also includes persistent rain throughout the weekend in Northeast and Northwest India. East and Central India are under a warning for torrential rains, potentially causing traffic disruptions. Areas affected include Madhya Pradesh (July 10-15), Vidarbha (July 10-11), Chhattisgarh (July 10-11, 14 & 15), Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim (July 10 & 13), Gangetic West Bengal (July 10 & 14), Jharkhand (July 10), and Odisha (July 9 and July 13-15). Delhi-NCR experienced heavy rainfall on Wednesday evening, resulting in waterlogging and traffic congestion. The IMD expects light to moderate rain to continue until the weekend. Furthermore, the IMD has issued alerts for intense downpours over East Rajasthan and Uttarakhand (July 10-15), Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh (July 10), Himachal Pradesh (July 10 and July 13-15), West Uttar Pradesh (July 10-13), East Uttar Pradesh (July 10-11), and West Rajasthan (July 12-15). Residents are urged to take precautions and check for traffic updates before traveling.
