The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall across various regions of the country on the upcoming day. The advisory indicates the likelihood of intense precipitation in specific areas. States like Chhattisgarh, coastal Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, and Uttarakhand are expected to experience heavy rainfall. Similarly, adverse weather conditions, including heavy downpours, are anticipated in coastal Andhra Pradesh, East Rajasthan, the Gujarat region, Himachal Pradesh, interior Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, and Goa.
Further, the Meteorological Department’s assessment suggests the possibility of heavy rainfall in Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Telangana, and Vidarbha. Concerns have been raised regarding potential issues such as waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and landslides, especially in hilly regions. In addition to the rainfall predictions, the forecast also includes the likelihood of strong winds accompanied by thunderstorms in certain areas. These areas encompass the Andaman-Nicobar Islands, Bihar, the state of Gujarat, interior Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Jharkhand, Lakshadweep, and Telangana. Local authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and heed local weather advisories. The active monsoon season is contributing to ongoing rainfall across the nation.
