General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Command, Lieutenant General Manoj Katiyar, stated on Saturday that India’s response would be even more severe if Pakistan or Pakistan-backed terrorist organizations launched another terrorist attack. He mentioned the ongoing ‘Operation Sindoor’ and highlighted the preparations to counter any hostile actions from Pakistan. Addressing the media on the occasion of the diamond jubilee celebrations of the 1965 India-Pakistan war victory, Lieutenant General Katiyar noted that the situation on the ground has been peaceful since the ceasefire on May 10. He expressed hope that Pakistan would not undertake any further misadventures. He also stated that there would be no option but to retaliate strongly if an attack occurs again. He further said that the aim of the Pahalgam terrorist attack was to destabilize the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and incite communal tensions within India. He added that the neighboring country would continue its efforts to damage India’s secular character.
