India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is spearheading a groundbreaking initiative to equip its fighter jets with an advanced, jam-tolerant flight control system. This innovative ‘Jam-Tolerant Geared Rotary Actuator’ project aims to ensure that Indian aircraft maintain complete operational control, even when subjected to electronic jamming or mechanical interference during flight. The ambitious project, set to conclude within 36 months, is significantly funded by the government, underscoring its strategic importance. This new technology is slated for integration into future platforms like the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) and next-generation spacecraft, promising enhanced capabilities and greater self-reliance in defense technology.
