Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has strongly criticized the current Congress-led government, led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, over allegations of widespread cheating and irregularities in the recent police recruitment examination. Thakur called the situation a profound betrayal of the youth of Himachal Pradesh and demanded immediate action. He called for the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the scandal and urged Chief Minister Sukhu to resign on moral grounds. Thakur highlighted that the recruitment process appeared to be a mockery, citing videos showcasing blatant cheating and group paper-solving. He emphasized that this was not merely mismanagement but criminal activity, and that the Chief Minister should resign if he possessed any moral integrity. Thakur pointed out that the police recruitment drive was the only significant recruitment initiative during the Congress government’s tenure and that the entire process had been compromised.
