A horrific incident of gang-rape involving a tribal minor girl has come to light in the Godda district of Jharkhand. The young girl, who had attended a wedding, was subjected to the brutal assault by ten men. The incident occurred in the Sunderpahari police station area of Godda district. According to reports, the minor had stepped out of the wedding venue at night to relieve herself.
Around ten young men noticed the girl at that time. They then seized her and, to satisfy their lust, gagged her and took her to a deserted place in the village. There, they committed the heinous act. News of the gang-rape spread rapidly, causing widespread panic in the village. A village panchayat was also convened to address the matter.
Eight of the accused have been arrested. Efforts were made to hush up the case. When justice seemed elusive, the girl’s family approached the Sunderpahari police station and filed a complaint against the ten accused. Swiftly taking action, the police arrested eight of the individuals involved in the gang-rape. All the accused are residents of the Sunderpahari police station area.
A case has been registered against the eight accused under various sections, including the POCSO Act, after a medical examination of the victim was conducted. Further investigation is underway. The police are also conducting raids to apprehend the remaining two accused. Before this incident, a similar case of gang-rape involving a minor girl had occurred in Godda district.
In a separate incident in the Bokaro district, in the Sector-12 police station area, four men accosted a husband and wife returning from the market. They forced them to consume alcohol. Then, tying up the husband, they gang-raped his wife in front of him. Subsequently, the Sector-12 police station took immediate action after the incident came to light and arrested all four accused.
