In a significant boost for rural housing, 109 families in the Torpa block of Khunti district celebrated their housewarming ceremonies on Wednesday. This milestone achievement is largely thanks to the state’s ambitious Abua Awas Yojana, which aims to provide dignified housing to all citizens. Out of the 109 homes, 95 were constructed under the Abua Awas Yojana, with an additional 13 benefiting from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and one under the Ambedkar Awas Yojana. The primary ceremony was held at the block office, where beneficiaries received keys and certificates, marking the fulfillment of their lifelong dream of owning a home. This initiative by the state government is a testament to its commitment to improving the living standards of its people, ensuring that no family is left without a safe and secure place to live. The event saw enthusiastic participation from local representatives and government officials, all celebrating this joyous occasion with the new homeowners.
