A special drive conducted by 60 police teams, under the direction of Ranchi SSP cum DIG Chandan Kumar Sinha, led to the arrest of 121 criminals in a single night. The operation involved 216 police personnel across 25 police stations in the rural areas of Ranchi. The arrested individuals were wanted in connection with serious offenses including murder, arms act violations, check bouncing, fraud, extortion, theft, robbery, dacoity, illegal mining, attempted murder, and motor vehicle accidents.
The arrested fugitives were paraded at the New Police Line in Kanke Road, Ranchi. 22 individuals were released after presenting bail documents, while 99, including three Naxalites, were sent to jail. The Naxalites included James Munda (PLFI member from Lapung), Rahul Kachhap (from Nagdi), and Ramu Lohar (from Bundu).
The operation highlights the extensive efforts of the Ranchi police to apprehend those evading justice and improve law enforcement in the region.
