Torrential rains in Jharkhand caused widespread flooding, leading to the rescue of 162 children trapped in a school. The incident occurred in Jamshedpur’s Potka block, where the Love-Kush residential school was inundated due to rising water levels in the Gudra River. Children were forced to seek refuge on the school’s roof. A rescue operation was launched by local authorities, involving police and local villagers, who used ropes and small boats to safely evacuate the students and staff. The state has experienced record rainfall this June, with several districts under alert.
