Get ready for an adventure! Jharkhand is launching India’s first mining tourism project on August 5th. This initiative, a collaboration between the state government and Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), aims to showcase the state’s rich mineral heritage. Tourists will have the opportunity to explore coal mines, with packages including meals, sightseeing, and guided tours. The project will start with visits to the Urimari mines, with plans to expand to other sites in partnership with Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL). Safety and health protocols will be mandatory before entering the mines. The tourism packages are priced at ₹2800 (plus GST) per person for visits to the Rajrappa temple and mining sites and ₹2500 (plus GST) for the Patratu Valley and mining site tour. The packages include breakfast, tours, and guide services. Tours will be conducted twice a week, with groups of 10 to 20 tourists. The project aims to boost tourism and highlight Jharkhand’s mineral wealth.
