Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to arrive in Ranchi on July 9th at 10:20 PM to attend the Eastern Zonal Council meeting. The meeting, which Shah will chair, is set to take place on July 10th at Hotel Radisson Blu. Around 70 representatives from the four eastern states—Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, and West Bengal—are expected to participate. In anticipation of the meeting, security measures have been intensified in Ranchi. The Home Minister presides over five regional councils, established under sections 15 to 22 of the States Reorganisation Act, 1956. The meeting will address key issues including swift investigation of sexual offenses against women and children, implementation of fast-track special courts, providing banking facilities in every village, implementing the emergency response system, and strengthening education, health, and other sectors. Jharkhand may raise the issue of outstanding dues of ₹1.36 lakh crore from public sector undertakings like Coal India.
