In East Singhbhum district, the state government has initiated a special awareness campaign against prohibited narcotics. The campaign commenced with the launch of an awareness chariot at the Collectorate complex. Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi flagged off the chariot, which aims to spread the message of de-addiction throughout the district. The chariot will travel to various blocks in the district, educating people about the adverse effects of substance abuse. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner administered an anti-addiction oath to all officials and staff present at the Collectorate. He emphasized that addiction affects not only an individual’s health but also their future, family, and society, leading to both mental and physical problems. The Deputy Commissioner urged every section of society to participate in the campaign to create an addiction-free society. He appealed to the general public to actively participate and raise awareness among their communities. The special campaign will run from June 10th to June 26th, 2025, featuring various awareness programs to inform people about the harmful consequences of drug addiction.
