The East Singhbhum district administration has initiated a special awareness campaign across the district, as part of the state government’s efforts against prohibited substances. Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi flagged off an awareness chariot at the Collectorate premises, which will travel through various blocks of the district, educating people about the harmful effects of drug addiction. The Deputy Commissioner administered an anti-drug pledge to all officials and staff present at the Collectorate. He emphasized that addiction affects not only an individual’s health but also their future, family, and society. The campaign aims to involve every section of society to create a drug-free environment. The drive, running from June 10 to June 26, 2025, will include various awareness programs to inform people about the adverse consequences of drug use.
