An awareness campaign against prohibited substances, initiated by the state government, has commenced in the East Singhbhum district. The Deputy Commissioner, Karn Satyarthi, flagged off an awareness chariot from the Collectorate premises. This chariot aims to spread the message of drug-free living across the district, educating people about the harmful effects of substance abuse. The Deputy Commissioner also administered an oath of abstinence from drugs to officials and staff present at the Collectorate. He emphasized that addiction negatively impacts an individual’s health, future, family, and society, leading to both mental and physical health issues. He called upon all sections of society to actively participate in the campaign to build a drug-free society. The public is urged to engage in the campaign and raise awareness about the dangers of addiction among their acquaintances. The special campaign will run from June 10th to June 26th, 2025, featuring various awareness programs to inform people about the adverse consequences of drug use.
