In East Singhbhum district, the state government initiated a special awareness campaign against prohibited substances. The Deputy Commissioner, Karn Satyarthi, flagged off an awareness chariot at the Collectorate premises. This chariot will travel through various blocks of the district, educating people about the adverse effects of substance abuse. The Deputy Commissioner also administered an anti-drug oath to all officers and staff present at the Collectorate. He emphasized that addiction affects not only an individual’s health but also their future, family, and society, leading to both mental and physical health issues. He called on every section of society to participate in the campaign to create a drug-free society and urged citizens to actively participate and raise awareness among their peers. The district administration will use this campaign to spread the message of freedom from addiction and inspire everyone to stay away from its harmful effects. The special campaign will run from June 10 to June 26, 2025, featuring various awareness programs to inform people about the consequences of drug use.
