East Singhbhum district has initiated a special awareness campaign against prohibited substances, as directed by the state government. The campaign aims to disseminate the message of freedom from addiction throughout the district. Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi flagged off an awareness chariot from the Collectorate premises. This chariot will tour various blocks in the district, educating people about the adverse effects of drugs. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner administered an oath of abstinence to all officials and staff present at the Collectorate. He emphasized that drug abuse harms not only an individual’s health but also their future, family, and society. The campaign encourages participation from all sections of society to build a drug-free community. The public is urged to actively participate and spread awareness among their peers. The campaign, which will run from June 10 to June 26, 2025, will feature various awareness programs to inform people about the consequences of drug use.
