In Dhanbad, Jharkhand, a woman allegedly murdered her husband and buried his body inside their home due to her affair with her nephew. After receiving information about the incident, a police team arrived at the scene and, in the presence of a magistrate, exhumed the body on Saturday. The deceased, Suresh Hansda, a resident of Tilaiyatanr under the Tundi police station area, had been missing for the past 10 days. He worked as a daily wage laborer. Suresh Hansda lived with his wife, Surji Devi, a 13-year-old son, and a 6-year-old daughter. Suspicion arose among villagers and family members when Surji Devi did not attend her husband’s funeral. When questioned about her husband’s whereabouts, the woman gave evasive answers. It was then that people realized she had murdered her husband and buried him in their home. Surji Devi reportedly killed her husband, Suresh Hansda, with a sharp weapon and buried the body in their house, covering it with a mud platform. Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team arrived at the scene and opened the locked room. Inside the room, there was a mound of mud. This aroused suspicion among the police as well. Subsequently, the body was exhumed in the presence of a magistrate. Dhanbad Headquarters-2 DSP Dhirendra Narayan said that Surji Hansda had murdered her husband, Suresh Hansda. The body was exhumed and sent to SNMMCH for a post-mortem examination. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
