The memorial feast for Jharkhand’s former Chief Minister, Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, saw the attendance of lakhs of people. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, along with Home Minister Amit Shah, visited the feast. They met with the family of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and paid their respects to Soren’s portrait.
Shibu Soren passed away on August 4th at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. His last rites were performed by his son, Hemant Soren, in his ancestral village of Nemra. All the related rituals and ceremonies are being conducted in Nemra.
The Jharkhand Chief Minister’s office shared a post on social media regarding the presence of Baba Ramdev and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh at the memorial feast. The post stated that Baba Ramdev offered his respects to Dishom Guru Shibu Soren’s picture. He also met with Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his family to offer his condolences. Baba Ramdev also sought the blessings of Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s mother, Rupi Soren, by touching her feet.
Security arrangements were extensive, with over 2500 police officers deployed to manage the large crowds. More than 300 e-rickshaws were also used to transport visitors from the parking area, ensuring smooth movement for attendees.
Arrangements were made for over two lakh people at the feast. Twelve different types of delicious dishes were prepared. Separate arrangements were made for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian guests. The menu included a variety of dishes, from lentils and rice to fish fry and mutton.
