Dr. Kushwaha Shashibhushan Mehta, BJP MLA from Panki, Jharkhand, expressed his dismay after being denied a room at the Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi. Despite having booked and confirmed two rooms in his name, he was informed at the reception that only one room was available. In protest, the MLA sat on the floor of the reception area and ate his breakfast there. He questioned the purpose of the Jharkhand Bhawan, a state-funded facility, if it couldn’t accommodate Jharkhand’s MLAs. He urged Chief Minister Hemant Soren to take action against those responsible for the mismanagement and ensure better facilities for the state’s lawmakers. The modern Jharkhand Bhawan, inaugurated on September 3, 2024, boasts advanced amenities and 50 guest rooms across seven floors, including suites for VIPs and top officials.
