A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan, Rahul Manjhi, died by suicide inside the Murhu police station in the Khunti district of Jharkhand. The incident caused a stir, with senior officials, including SP Manish Toppo and DSP Varun Rajak, immediately arriving at the scene to investigate. The jawan was in police custody after being accused of harassment. Ramdev Yadav, the station officer of Murhu police station, has been suspended in connection with the case. Manjhi, who was stationed in Siliguri, had been on leave and had not returned to his camp. According to reports, the jawan was apprehended by villagers in the Meral area after a young woman accused him of harassment. The police then took him into custody. The jawan allegedly hanged himself in the bathroom of the police station using an electrical wire attached to a ventilator.
