A serious road accident occurred near Jail Chowk in the Sakchi police station area on Thursday afternoon, resulting in injuries to three individuals. The incident unfolded when a Tata Tiago car, traveling at high speed from the Old Court Road towards Jail Chowk, collided head-on with another vehicle. The impact was so severe that the airbags in both cars deployed, narrowly averting a potentially graver outcome. Eyewitnesses reported significant damage to the front ends of both cars following the collision. The injured parties include the wife of the driver of one vehicle, and a woman and a young man from the other car. Local residents assisted in transporting the injured woman and young man to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) for medical attention. The wife of the driver, after receiving initial treatment at a nearby hospital, was discharged. Sakchi police promptly arrived at the scene, cleared the damaged vehicles from the roadway to restore traffic flow, and initiated an investigation into the incident. The driver of one car recounted that his vehicle was struck by the oncoming car traveling at excessive speed, emphasizing that the immediate deployment of airbags was crucial in saving their lives.
