In the remote Hendediri Tola of Dubil village, under the Chhotanagra Panchayat in Saranda, a kutcha house collapsed due to incessant rainfall. The incident occurred around 4 AM on Tuesday when the house of Surajmuni Champia crumbled. The collapse resulted in the destruction of belongings including an almirah, a box, mobile phones, essential documents, and food supplies. The affected family has been rendered homeless, lacking both shelter and a place to cook. They are now forced to live under the open sky amidst the wet mud and broken walls. Surajmuni Champia and her family have appealed to the district administration, the Circle Officer, and panchayat representatives for assistance. They are in urgent need of immediate aid and compensation. Mukhiya Munni Devgam of the panchayat noted that most of the poor villagers have kutcha houses with one or two rooms, where they live with their children and the entire family. Due to the continuous rainfall, many kutcha houses in Saranda are at risk.
