A check dam constructed two years ago near Pahad Toli village in Karra block collapsed on Sunday due to heavy rainfall over two days. The failure resulted in the complete destruction of crops in the fields of several farmers in Pahad Toli village. Farmers claim that the contractor did not properly construct the guard wall during the check dam’s construction, which prevented the dam from withstanding the strong water flow. The check dam was reportedly built in the wrong location. The farmers of Pahad Toli village have requested the administration to investigate the irregularities in the construction of the check dam and provide appropriate compensation to the affected farmers.
