Our government stands with them on every front with the thought of how to increase the income of farmer brothers, how they can be prosperous, empowered and self-reliant. Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren was addressing the program organized at Harivansh Tana Bhagat Stadium, Hotwar after laying the foundation stone of the state’s first milk powder plant at Medha Dairy Plant, Hotwar, Ranchi today. The Chief Minister said that efforts are continuously being made to bring positive change in the lives of farmers. Many schemes are going on in this regard and many more schemes will be implemented on the ground in the coming days. You should join these schemes and help in strengthening the state with you. On this occasion, the Chief Minister launched Medha Ragi Laddu, Medha Sudhan Manure and animal feed making machine – Silage.
Emphasis on value addition of agricultural products
The Chief Minister said that commercial agriculture is the need of the hour. Special attention has to be paid to how the value addition of agricultural products can be increased. Giving the example of international cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Chief Minister said that when a cricketer is touching new heights in the field of agriculture, then why cannot a farmer who is engaged in farming 24 hours a day move forward. He said that the government is cooperating through many means to encourage farmers. In such a situation, you should take steps towards giving a commercial form to your farming.
Important contribution of agriculture and animal husbandry in the economy
The Chief Minister said that agriculture and animal husbandry have an important contribution in the economy of the country and the state. It is the means of livelihood for a large number of people. There was a time when the slogan of Jai Jawan- Jai Kisan was enough to tell how important the strength of farmers was in our economy. However, today the circumstances have changed, but it cannot be denied that the economy cannot move forward without agriculture. People’s stomachs are filled with the products of farmers. If there is no production of grains, life cannot be imagined. Our government is constantly making efforts to promote agriculture and animal husbandry even amidst all the challenges. The government purchases the paddy produced by you. There are many schemes to provide incentives and financial assistance to farmers. Our aim is to strengthen agriculture further.
No harm to the environment due to agricultural work
The Chief Minister said that many different types of industries are operating in the country. We are all aware of how much damage is being caused to the environment due to factories. But, agriculture is the only sector which has only benefits. There is no harm to the environment in any way due to the grains grown in the fields. The Chief Minister also said that if the problem of malnutrition is increasing rapidly among children today, then somewhere behind this, the lack of nutritious food and the increased use of chemical and fake goods is a big reason. If we have cows and other animal resources in our house today, then we will get pure and nutritious food, which is very good for our health.
The government is providing insured livestock to the cattle rearers
The Chief Minister said that the government is getting the livestock given to the farmers and cattle rearers in the state insured so that if the animal dies due to illness or any other reason, the farmers do not have to suffer any financial loss.
The state is moving towards becoming self-sufficient in the production of milk and fish etc.
The Chief Minister said that the government is taking concrete steps to make the state self-sufficient in the production of milk, fish, meat etc. He expressed confidence that in the next 5 to 7 years, Jharkhand will not only become self-sufficient in their production but will also be able to export. The Chief Minister said that the government is making an action plan to increase milk collection work. Under this, farmers and cattle rearers are being given a fair price along with providing a market for milk. Along with this, they are also being given incentives for milk production.
On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Mrs. Shilpi Neha Tirki, MLA Mr. Suresh Baitha, Secretary Mr. Abu Bakar Siddique, Director Animal Husbandry Mrs. Kiran Pasi, Chairman of National Dairy Development Board Dr. Meenesh Shah and Managing Director of Jharkhand Milk Federation Mr. Jaydev Vishwas were specially present.
