Shibu Soren, former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and Padma Bhushan awardee, at Nemra in Ramgarh. The Chief Minister unveiled a life‑size statue of his father, the former Chief Minister Shesh Sw. Shibu Soren, at the Sona Sobran +2 Higher Secondary School campus in Lukaiyatand, Nemra, Ramgarh district, and paid heartfelt tribute. His wife, MLA Mrs. Kalpana Soren, mother Mrs. Rupi Soren and all relatives also offered humble respects to the Dishoam Guru memorial Shesh Sw. Shibu Soren. The Chief Minister, as a son, saluted his father and former Chief Minister Shesh Sw. Shibu Soren, recalling his unparalleled contribution to state building and social justice. Nemra, Lukaiyatand, Ramgarh – This day is especially emotional and heavy for me and my whole family, but the grief is not limited to our family; it is a sorrowful and moving moment for the entire Jharkhand region and for all tribal, Dalit, oppressed and backward sections of the country. On this day last year, the revered Baba Dishoam Guru Shibu Soren breathed his last and merged into the five elements. This is the eternal truth of creation: every being born on this earth must eventually return to nature according to the cosmic cycle. The revered Guru also completed that cycle. Sometimes, due to events and the wheel of time, our beloved ones depart from us. Today we have unveiled a grand statue of the revered Guru in the Sona‑Sobran school campus at Lukaiyatand (Barlanga). The purpose of this statue is that we and future generations never forget our history and roots. These remarks were made by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who addressed the unveiling ceremony and development fair with prize distribution on the first death anniversary of the former Chief Minister and Padma Bhushan awardee Dishoam Guru memorial Shesh Sw. Shibu Soren held at Lukaiyatand, Nemra, Ramgarh. He said that before and after independence, our society endured exploitation, and the fearless struggle of our ancestors against that exploitation is a lesson we must learn. Society’s real strength lies in unity; we must draw inspiration from martyrs’ ideals. The Chief Minister said that our great‑grandfather, immortal martyr Sw. Sobran Manjhi, also made a significant contribution to social upliftment. At that time, Ramgarh district was part of Hazaribagh district, where he served as a teacher in a small school and educated children, but anti‑social elements brutally murdered him in the night. That incident occurred before my birth, yet recalling that dark chapter still pains the heart. A serious concern is that anti‑social elements still exist in new forms and faces in our society. The Chief Minister noted that while we are fulfilling dreams of reaching the moon, on the other hand, anti‑social forces are proliferating from cities to remote villages, misleading and targeting ordinary citizens – elderly, women and youth alike. He believes the only lasting solution is our unbreakable unity and mutual respect. Without respect and brotherhood, we will continue to quarrel over trivial matters, so we must awaken brotherly and humane feelings. He said today is the era of a new youth generation, full of energy and strength, and it is our responsibility to guide them on the right path so they stay away from misguidance. He added that the revered “Guru”’s thoughts and ideals are not limited to his birthplace, panchayat or village, but are remembered with great respect across the state and nation. Dishoam Guru memorial Shesh Sw. Shibu Soren realized the dream of a separate Jharkhand state. Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that despite the rainy season, people across the state are gathering spontaneously in memory of the revered Guru. Beyond political parties, society in every district is uniting. The revered Dishoam Guru Shibu Soren, through his movement, gave Jharkhand a distinct identity and made an invaluable contribution as a great nation‑builder, transcending traditional political limits; positions, leaders, legislators and ministers become insignificant before such a personality. He said that heroes like the Guru have built this separate state with their blood and sweat, and now the heavy responsibility of beautifying and developing the state rests on our shoulders. As a responsible government, we continuously strive to ensure that the voice and facilities of the government reach every citizen and that your voice reaches the government directly. Together we must pave the way for a brighter future of the state. The day is also for embedding the memory of great souls in our hearts. The Chief Minister said that earlier we gathered in Lukaiyatand to remember the immortal martyr Sobran Manjhi, and now we will continuously gather in honor of the revered Guru. Our ancestral village Nemra is very close to the Guru’s birthplace, and because accommodating many people in that small village was difficult, the site was marked so that in future we can gather in large numbers to remember our great heroes and pledge to carry forward their inspiration. The Chief Minister said that today is not for formal speeches; it is a day to embed the memory of great souls in our hearts and souls on the first death anniversary along with the statue unveiling. Though they are not physically among us, their struggle and path remain clearly visible. He called Jharkhand the sacred land of heroes, noting that the earth has given birth to countless great personalities such as Baba Birsa Munda, Sido‑Kanu, Nirmal Mahato, Vinod Bihari Mahato and the revered Guru. Their sacrifices have made Jharkhand a sacred land of heroes as well as a state. In every corner a hero appears, delivering inspiring messages. We are descendants and heirs of these great heroes; we are all heroes on this land, and the battle of heroism must be fought not among ourselves but against our enemies. He urged that we must never ignore our state’s history. He expressed gratitude to all persons present on the Guru’s first death anniversary despite adverse circumstances and said thank you and Johaar!
