Clerk Suspended Over Leave Matter in DEO Office

No Medical Negligence, Complication Arose Due to Patient's Refusal

**Palamu.** A clear situation has emerged at the administrative level regarding the medical and departmental case related to Mrs. Bharti Pandey. In this regard, taking administrative action, clerk Shri Ishwari Dayal Ram of the District Education Officer's office has been suspended vide letter no. 193 dated July 26, 2026, from the Regional Joint Director of Education, Palamu Division, Medininagar. Additionally, vide letter no. 194 dated July 26, 2026, the deputation of Shri Arun Kumar Giri (clerk) has been removed from the District Education Officer, Palamu, and transferred to the Regional Education Officer, Ranka (Garhwa). According to available information, during a check-up by Dr. Rishita Singh (MS/Gyne) at Sona Nursing Home on July 21, 2026, the patient was found to have a complaint of Leaking P/V. The doctor advised immediate admission for medical observation, but Mrs. Pandey refused to be admitted. After this, on July 24, 2026, she was again advised to get admitted, which she also did not comply with. Finally, on July 25, 2026, when she returned to Sona Nursing Home, the ultrasound examination revealed that the fetus was dead. The delivery of the dead fetus was conducted as per medical procedure. Meanwhile, it has also become clear at the departmental level that Mrs. Bharti Pandey had not submitted any application for maternity leave. She submitted an application for Child Care Leave at the District Education Officer's office, mentioning taking leave for the care of her 7-year-old daughter, Aditi Kumari. Based on the application and affidavit, as per departmental rules, the District Education Officer, Palamu, approved 185 days of child care leave vide letter no. 1069 dated July 25, 2026.

Palamu District Administration states that action has been taken in the entire matter based on facts, and necessary steps are being taken to avoid such situations in the future.
