A shocking incident has occurred in Gurugram, Haryana, where a police constable was found dead at the official residence of Cabinet Minister Rao Narbir Singh. The constable, who was on duty at the guard room, was discovered unconscious by a colleague. The minister and police were immediately notified, and the constable was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old constable Jagbir Singh, a resident of Sukhpura village in Jhajjar district. According to police, Jagbir Singh was stationed at the entrance of Rao Narbir Singh’s bungalow for security duty. Initial investigations suggest a possible suicide, although no suicide note was recovered from the scene. The police have launched an investigation into the case.
The incident took place in the Civil Lines area, at the official residence of Haryana’s Minister of Industries and Commerce, Rao Narbir Singh. Police reports indicate the incident occurred around 2:30 AM.
SHO Krishna Kumar stated that authorities suspect the constable may have consumed a poisonous substance, leading to his death. However, the truth will be revealed after the post-mortem report. The police also mentioned that the deceased’s family has not yet filed a written complaint or provided a statement, and further action will be determined after receiving the family’s input.
The deceased constable was a former soldier who began his service in the Haryana Police in 2014. He was assigned to the minister’s residence for security purposes after Rao Narbir Singh became a minister. Several other police personnel were also part of the security detail.
