DCs Directed to Implement New Waste Management Guidelines

Development Commissioner Ajay Kumar Singh has issued a series of directives to improve solid waste management throughout Jharkhand. In a recent video conference with district heads, he stressed the importance of identifying specific sites at the Panchayat level for waste segregation and the establishment of processing plants. The state plans to develop two to three waste processing clusters in each district to handle garbage using scientific methods. To ensure efficiency, the government will engage third-party agencies for door-to-door collection. Additionally, the use of specialized e-rickshaws and tricycles has been proposed for rural areas to streamline the collection process and ensure that garbage is transported to designated processing units without delay.
