Dhanbad’s ‘Cyber Shield’ Sweep Seizes Laptops, Phones and Bank Documents
The “Cyber Shield” initiative, ordered by the senior superintendent of police, aims to stem the tide of digital fraud in Dhanbad. A coordinated raid in the Tundi jurisdiction uncovered a cache of electronic devices and financial records used in illicit transactions.
Investigators confiscated three laptops, twenty mobile phones—four of which were iPhone models—along with a suite of banking tools: sixteen ATM cards, twenty‑three passbooks, ten assorted checkbooks and a green remittance card. Personal identification documents, including PAN and Aadhaar cards, were also taken into evidence.
The five detainees have been booked under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act. Police officials emphasized that the operation is part of an ongoing effort to dismantle cyber‑crime rings and protect citizens from online scams.
