Dowry Murder Alleged in Palamu After Young Woman's Death

The family of Khushbu Kumari has staged a protest in Palamu, Jharkhand, following her death less than two weeks after her wedding. Her brother, Ravindra Kumar, informed the police that although the marriage was initially settled without dowry, the groom's family began harassing Khushbu for a motorcycle shortly after the ceremony. The family alleges that she was physically and mentally tortured before being killed, with the crime scene staged to resemble a suicide. Nawa Bazar police have taken the body into custody and shifted it to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) for a forensic examination.
