In Ranchi, Jharkhand, a thief broke into a temple, stole valuables, and then passed out in front of a deity. The individual, under the influence of drugs, broke into the temple, took money from the donation box, and removed gold and silver ornaments from the Maa Sheetala idol. However, as he attempted to leave with the stolen goods, the combined effects of intoxication and sleeping pills caused him to collapse in front of the idol. Villagers discovered the sleeping thief the next morning and alerted the police, who subsequently arrested him.
