A crucial meeting of the Eastern Zonal Council is scheduled to take place in Ranchi, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Shah arrived in Ranchi late Wednesday night via a special flight from Delhi, receiving a traditional welcome. Several prominent figures, including Babulal Marandi, Raghuvar Das, and Arjun Munda, were present at the welcoming ceremony.
The meeting is set to commence at 10:30 AM. Chief Minister Hemant Soren also arrived in Ranchi from Delhi to attend the meeting. Joining him are Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, and Water Resources Minister Vijay Chaudhary. All the dignitaries are accommodated at Hotel Radisson Blu. The meeting will involve approximately 70 participants.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren is expected to demand a special package for Jharkhand, along with the pending dues of Rs 1.36 lakh crore from coal companies. He will be accompanied by Ministers Radhakrishna Kishore and Deepak Biruva. The Eastern Zonal Council meeting will address 20 significant agendas. Amit Shah is scheduled to depart for Delhi this evening after the meeting concludes.
