Dumarid MLA Jairam Mahto organized a talent recognition ceremony at the Vinod Bihari Mahto Rural Stadium in Nawadih. The chief guest, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, honored 40 top-performing students from the Dumri assembly constituency who excelled in the JAC matriculation and intermediate examinations. Laptop computers were awarded to the toppers of matriculation, intermediate arts, intermediate commerce, and intermediate science. The top 10 students also received tablets, funded by 75% of the MLA’s two-month salary. Mementos and certificates of appreciation were also presented.
Addressing the ceremony, the Governor emphasized the importance of talent recognition ceremonies in fostering social and educational awareness, inspiring students to excel. He highlighted the role of education in bringing positive societal changes and encouraged students to pursue their dreams with hard work, perseverance, and enthusiasm to bring glory to their parents, village, and state.
Mahto stated that the age of 13 to 19 years is crucial for career building. He challenged the students to decide whether they would pursue education to secure a respectable job or spend their time on social media. He warned that neglecting studies could lead to a life of manual labor. He added that he was well aware of the importance of education as he had lost his father and grandfather at a young age and faced financial hardships. He further announced that students struggling with financial constraints would be identified and offered assistance after three months. Prior to this, the MLA honored the Governor with a wooden plow.
