A case of a missing elephant has emerged from the Palamu district of Jharkhand. The elephant is estimated to be worth approximately one crore rupees. The police have registered a case and, along with the forest department, have initiated a search operation. It is reported that the elephant is fitted with a tracking chip, which is being used to aid the search. The elephant was in the care of two mahouts from Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, who have also gone missing.
