Emergency Response Training Pays Off as Reporter Revives Officer
Ramgarh – The incident underscored the value of public‑first‑aid training. District Collector Faiz Ahmed Mumtaz had previously organised a massive CPR training drive that reached over two lakh residents, including schoolchildren, college students, journalists, and local entrepreneurs.
Training camps were held in urban schools as well as remote village panchayats, creating a network of citizens capable of delivering immediate assistance during crises. When constable Ananda Kumar collapsed, it was the quick response of journalist Anil Vishwakarma—who had himself attended the training—that saved his life.
The successful revival highlighted how grassroots emergency‑response education can bridge gaps in professional medical services, especially in high‑traffic public areas like the chief minister’s residence.
