In a shocking incident in Jharkhand’s Khunti district, two friends on a motorcycle were attacked by assailants late Friday night. One of the youths died on the spot, while the other was seriously injured. Police were alerted and arrived at the scene promptly. The body was taken into custody and sent for a post-mortem examination. The police have launched a search for the criminals.
The victims were returning home to Khatanga village from the Saiko weekly market in Khunti district. Near Kocharidih village, on a deserted bridge, the attackers threw chili powder into the eyes of the two friends, causing them to lose control of their motorcycle. They fell to the ground, and the attackers, who arrived on two motorcycles, then attacked Choyta Sarukad with a sharp weapon, resulting in his death.
Singa Munda was seriously injured in the attack. The assailants fled the scene afterward. Villagers discovered the scene late at night and rushed the injured to the nearest hospital. Doctors declared Choyta Sarukad dead upon examination. Police from Murhu police station arrived at the hospital upon receiving the information. They have registered a case based on the injured youth’s statement and are actively seeking the perpetrators. The police have assured that all the accused will be arrested soon.
