Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar stated that the battle against cancer requires not only medical treatment but also compassion and collective responsibility. Speaking at the inauguration of a cancer summit in Ranchi, he highlighted the complex nature of the disease, which impacts not only the individual’s body but also the mental, social, and emotional stability of the entire family. He emphasized that human empathy, trust, and affection are as crucial as medication in cancer treatment. The Governor also mentioned the importance of early detection and proper treatment, especially in a state like Jharkhand, where access to healthcare in rural areas remains a challenge. He lauded the ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme as a revolutionary initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, providing free and quality treatment to the poor and underprivileged. However, he stressed that the success of this scheme relies on the collaborative efforts of doctors, hospitals, state governments, and society. He called upon all participants to ensure that no cancer patient feels alone, urging them to understand the patient’s pain and make dedicated efforts to help them on their journey back to life.
