Gumla Crime: Son Accused of Murdering Mother, Hiding Body in Isolated Farm

Law enforcement in Gumla district has filed a murder case against a 27‑year‑old male, Paradeshiya Mahato, after he is alleged to have killed his mother, Tetrri Devi, over a gambling‑related quarrel. The incident took place in Nathpur village, where the mother’s refusal to fund her son’s betting habit sparked a violent confrontation.

According to the police report, Mahato seized a sharp knife and a sickle, delivering a series of blows that caused immediate death. In an attempt to eradicate forensic evidence, he allegedly smeared cow dung mixed with water over bloodstains inside the family home and rinsed the murder instruments.

The suspect then moved the body to a desolate field away from the house, discarding it in the open. Village locals who later discovered the bloodied corpse reported the matter to authorities. A rapid police deployment secured the area, collected DNA samples, and retrieved the weapons for analysis.

Paradeshiya Mahato was apprehended shortly thereafter. He confessed to the killing during interrogation, leading to his formal arrest. The body has been forwarded to the district hospital for a post‑mortem, and the case is proceeding through the judicial system.
