Residents of Hajirabag are in deep shock after a six‑month‑old boy, identified as Ansh Kumar, lost his life following a violent altercation between his parents. According to statements filed by the mother, the dispute involved her mother‑in‑law and escalated when the father, Akash Kumar, lifted the sleeping infant and carried him to the back of the house, near a well. The child was violently dropped onto a hard surface, resulting in fatal injuries. After emergency treatment at Shekh Bikhari Medical College Hospital, he was sent to Ranchi for advanced care but did not survive. Police have taken the father into custody and are awaiting the post‑mortem report.
