The temperature in the capital city reached 45 degrees Celsius on Monday, with scorching heat throughout the day. Residents of the NCR were severely affected by the clear skies and intense sunshine. The extreme heat is expected to continue today, with a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 29 degrees Celsius. Dust-laden winds and a heatwave are likely, persisting until June 12th. Relief is anticipated from June 13th, as the weather department forecasts rain.
In Uttar Pradesh, people are currently suffering from the heat. The weather department indicates dry weather in both the eastern and western parts of the state today. An orange alert has been issued for heatwave conditions in Lalitpur, Jhansi, Jalaun, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Etawah, Firozabad, Agra, Hathras, Aligarh, and Mathura. Rain is expected to return to UP from tomorrow, with an alert for rain and thunderstorms in 60% of the districts on June 12th.
Bihar is not expected to get respite from the heat today; however, a change in weather is expected late tonight. Heavy rainfall is expected from tomorrow with the monsoon. The monsoon is expected to arrive in Bihar by June 15th. Light rain is possible tonight in West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, and Kishanganj. Heavy rainfall is expected across Bihar from tomorrow. The weather will change in Jharkhand today. Strong winds are expected in several districts of the state from today until June 14th, along with the possibility of rain.
Rajasthan is once again experiencing high temperatures. The heatwave has caused deserted streets during the afternoon. The maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 47.3 degrees Celsius in Sri Ganganagar. The weather department anticipates dry weather and a heatwave in most parts of western Rajasthan for the coming week. Light rain with thunder is possible in the Kota and Bharatpur divisions on June 15-16th. Haryana and Punjab are also expected to face intense heat this week.
