Dark clouds gathered over Delhi on Saturday evening, with light to moderate rainfall in some areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts cloudy skies and thunderstorms with rain in several areas on Sunday, issuing orange and yellow alerts for various locations. The Safdarjung area in Delhi recorded 12.9 mm of rainfall by 5:30 PM. Other parts of the city also experienced rainfall, with Lodhi Road receiving 12 mm and Pragati Maidan 11 mm during the same period. The maximum temperature reached 34.8 degrees Celsius, 0.7 degrees below the seasonal average. The minimum temperature was 26.4 degrees Celsius, with relative humidity at 82% in the morning and 62% in the evening. The forecast for Sunday includes thunderstorms, although the city is expected to remain in the green zone, indicating no weather warnings.
Uttar Pradesh witnessed good rainfall on Saturday, leading to a one to two-degree drop in temperatures. The weather department predicts light to moderate rainfall for the next week. Heavy rainfall is expected in districts like Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Mathura, Agra, Firozabad, Etawah, Bijnor, Moradabad, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur, and surrounding areas on Sunday.
Rajasthan continues to experience monsoon rainfall, with light to heavy showers in several districts over the past 24 hours. The weather center anticipates an active monsoon with above-average rainfall in most parts of eastern Rajasthan for the next two weeks. Western Rajasthan is also expected to have an active monsoon and receive above-average rainfall in the coming week.
The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall alert for several districts in Jharkhand from July 13 to 15. Yellow alerts have been issued for Gumla, Khunti, Simdega, Saraikela-Kharsawan, and East-West Singhbhum districts on July 13 and 14.
